Span System Installation

  • NUC -- Capture Windows Product Key from bottom of NUC
  • Define local Admin password with customer
  • Projector wall mount bracket
    • Locate position(s) for bracket(s)
  • Touch module
    • Touch module cable in wall? -- pull string for projector end thru wall

Boom build

  • Install NUC
    • Capture Windows Product Key for ducomentation
    • Use template for NUC mounting holes
  • Install cables
    • Ethernet
    • HDMI
      • NAM -- mark cables at NAM end "P"=projector, "C"=computer
    • USB to USB-mini
    • String for touch cable
    • Ethernet cable for NAM management
    • USB-to-Ethernet adapter
    • Run USD extender
  • USB ports – in-wall jacks
    • Install wall plate
      • Keystone jack
      • USB male-to-male adapter

Projector/boom install

  • Hang boom
    • Install wall mount bracket
    • Install Light Curtain Module (LCM) mount bracket
      • Use template to locate position
      • Route LCM cable through wall to wall mount bracket
    • Run cables through wall where needed
      • Route LCM cable through boom
  • Mount projector
  • Connect projector
  • Install LCM
    • Pull cable up with pull string if run thru wall
  • Mount NAM
  • Connect NAM
  • Power-up and test
  • Hardware focus projector/s with test pattern
    * * Careful! * * Make sure cables not pinched when raising/lowering boom
  • USB extender
    • Route cable
    • Connect to wall plate

Install wall surface -- install after all other hardware work is complete

  • Wall film -- use Rosebud
    • Remove LCM from wall so film will install beneath
    • Start film at proper height and vertical edge -- Use laser level
      • Set to sled height
      • Identify vertical line for start and set laser level
    • Apply film
      • Use cardboard from boom packaging as a "squeegee"

Configure Windows on NUC PC

Initial setup of NUC PC with Windows 10:

  • Region, language, keyboard, time zone
  • Product key -- bottom of NUC (not needed with Win 10 embedded)
  • EULA -- accept
  • Customize settings -- Respond "no" to all on both screens
  • Select "I own it"
  • Select "Skip this step" -- no Microsoft account
  • Local Admin username, password
    • Username: Admin
    • Password: Letmein!

When using 16:6 aspect ratio projector:

Confirm 16:6 aspect ratio if not, then set 16:6 resolution & 10-ft image:

  • Right-click desktop, Graphics Properties
  • Display
  • Resolution=1920x720
  • Refresh rate=60p hz
  • Scaling=Maintain Display Scaling
  • Apply
  • Do you want to keep these settings?=Yes

Using a NAM?

  • Confirm IP connection with NAM on 192.168.0.### network
  • NAM interface is 192.168.0.11
  • Configure Windows and load NAM management software
  • Synchronize with NAM
  • Confirm firmware version is supported -- see on-screen message
    --- If not, update NAM firmware ---
  • Confirm 1920x720 resolution and standby timer set to 15 minutes
  • Should "kickstart" NAM into 10-ft mode if not already configured

Configure Windows settings

  • Power Settings
    • When to turn off the display=never
    • When to put the computer to sleep=never
    • Save Changes
  • Set up User Account -- logged in as Admin
    • Make local User account
      • Administrative Tools...Computer Management
      • Local Users & Groups
      • Double-click users
      • Action...New User...
      • Username=User
      • Full Name=User
      • Password=[blank]
      • Uncheck "User must change password at next logon"
      • Check "User cannot change password"
      • Check "Password never expires"
      • Click "Create"

Install Nureva Software

  • Download software -- Go to the Software download page
    • Span Wall software
    • Span touch drivers
    • NAM 1.1.6 warp software
  • Install Nureva Span software -- log in as Admin
  • Run and install Span wall software
    • Do not launch Wall Software
  • Run and install LCT software – device drivers
    • Don't create a desktop icon
    • Restart to activate drivers
  • Open the Wall software
    • Log in
    • Update Displays for a single display

NAM firmware upgrade

 Download Warp_M_NAM_AP_1P1P6.exe

  1. Confirm NAM firmware version is supported —— If NAM firmware upgrade required ——  Download NAM Firmware 1.1.5 folder and update NAM firmware -- link
  2. Confirm IP connection to 192.168.0.### NAM box
  3. Run NAM2-1
  4. Warp images
  5. New warp -- "New Multi-Function" Existing warp -- "Open Config File"
  6. Synchronize with NAM box
  7. Warp image using the "Warp" tab across the top
